Rapist, Hudson Bay Company Man, Scotland

The Hudson Bay Company was created in 1670 and moved into the Canadian Arctic (Rupert’s Land) to establish fur trading posts soon after. Together with Christian Missionaries, the Royal Mounted Police and the Canadian Department of Northern Affairs they are responsible for destroying the traditional way of life of northern Canadian indigenous peoples. By the early 20th century the Inuit had been traded poverty, illness and despair in return for their forced cooperation and slow-groomed dependence.
